Hi :3 I’ve been writing this prose poem for like two weeks :3 this is just a rough draft :3 I actually don’t know if I like the tone of this poem…I don’t think it actually conveys much emotion or anything…it just sort of gives some thoughts, and information. But then again, not all poems have to be very emotive, or have an emotional tone, I think :3 There are lots of informative* poems, or poems that deliver information (stripped of real emotiveness) as their main ‘stylistic form,’ or way~ they’re written.
I think that style, or form, or how things are written, is often much more difficult to master than content*, or simply what is being said. :3 Observations and commentary, ideologies and ideas, and inquisitive tendencies and questions are often easy to have, and even to write down.. But the impressions that the words give off – the mood, tone, or feeling, or even the strength of the words; how forceful and impactful they are, and even things like the clarity and succinctness…and the nuances or different associations that the words can give off – all that is often difficult to convey skillfully. I think that’s why editing one’s written work, and even having a separate person as an editor or proofreader of one’s work, can be invaluable :3 Reading widely and often in order to pick up on well-crafted writing (vs lesser-quality writing) is often helpful as well, I’ve heard :3 *But I actually feel that I’m much more of a content-oriented person than a style-oriented person. I prefer good ideas and thoughts and questions* and etc. (good content) more so than less-engaging content that might be written superbly. I’m for what’s being said, more so than how it is delivered or expressed, or written out. That being said I of course see the importance of both aspects of writing (and possibly speaking, as well). I see that interesting or inventive thoughts (or deep/weighty thoughts, or far-reaching/all-encompassing thoughts – in terms of incorporating all possibilities or scenarios, etc. etc.) should probably have good stylistic delivery, and expression. But I’m definitely the type of person who can excuse lesser-quality delivery and style, in sidestep to great-quality thoughts, and content. I know that there are some people who believe both elements should be good at all times, and that there’s little excuse for either poor content, or poor style/form. I’m of the former type though; I care about the content much* more than the style/form. Maybe it’s because I know that saying something in a sophisticated or very intelligent way (or; forceful/strong/impactful, or thought-provoking/profound, etc..) is often hard :3 One often has to push through a lot of barriers and hindrances to really reach that type of writing style :3 :3 So that’s why I don’t care too* much about it, honestly – about style. I care about content.. I think that’s a lot more fair to the writer- the person who wrote down the thoughts. I think there’s been too much of an emphasis on style, actually – on how* things are written. How* the author writes things. I mean we don’t want it to be messy, or too esoteric (or too simple, conversely), or any other bad trait. But ‘writing well’ or whatever is hard! I like to not be too critical of style, at all But maybe that’s just me, I don’t know
:3
lol this sounded like a ‘please don’t be too hard on this poem’ plea. 😅😖 this is the poem, lol (it’s kind of weird I guess):
Subjugated, Unfree
If something unjustifiable happens, like the enslavement of a people, or of one person – or hostility towards an idea like freedom; people prohibiting it from being realized, restricting it, making sure it is trapped within the confines of theoretical books, and desires – isn’t that enough for the idea of god to be nullified? And can something unjustifiable, like human domination and ownership over other people, ever be justified, even sometime in the future, like on a Judgment Day? An unjustifiable thing can’t be justified with time. Even with time, that phenomenon that allegedly heals and brings some understanding, or clarity. Unjustifiable things can’t even be justified on a Day that’s mystical or otherworldly, when things will be different, and we’ll be given the ability to see reasons behind certain past events. People talk of retribution – of punishment for evil acts. “It’s correct that certain acts can’t be justified. And so that’s why there is reincarnation, and hell, and retributory afterlives.” But punishing evil acts doesn’t explain why they happened. It’s just a reciprocation and equilibrium of sorts – leveling the playing field, administering justice. And if the acts should not have happened under any circumstance—well, god doesn’t let inexcusable things happen. They are beyond any rationalization, pardon, or justification, by their definition.
comments/explanation of poem (I wrote this as a prose poem, actually 😛 so it looks like a paragraph or micro-essay, or something similar.. rather than a traditional, lineated poem – one with line breaks, and everything. Sentences that are broken off before completion and continued on the next line underneath, and etc.):
This poem uses slavery and human ownership over other people – enslavement, being subjugated and unfree – as a sort of springboard for exploring the idea of ~god not existing.~ The poem says that even a Judgment Day could never explain why certain things, like slavery, had to happen. Even a Day ‘when all incomprehensible things that happened on earth will be understood, or made clear’ could never explain a lot of evil actions that happened on earth. The poem also says that time itself – the period between now and a Judgment Day – cannot rationalize or explain certain evil acts, either. (Time, which usually ‘heals and brings some understanding, or clarity.’) The poem goes on to say that even the idea of retribution and punishment – reincarnation, hell, and etc. – doesn’t make up for, or explain*, why certain bad things had to happen. Basically, the poem is saying that nothing~ can explain or justify certain evil actions and events. And so the idea of god is questionable…it’s null and void, and unsuitable, considering the extent of evil and inexcusable actions that happen in the world.
I think the idea of god is a really interesting one, actually 😛 It gives comfort and consolation, and lots of solace. I recently wrote a few thoughts related to this idea of needing a god, for solace. I wrote this like two weeks ago:
‘We might be in need of a god – a force that can pacify and soothe us when we face anxiety and fear, and etc. But do we need a god so badly that we disregard how despotic the world is? Does our need for a god override the reality that a merciful god could never create such a world? My complete objection to the idea of a merciful god is not only a valid point, but it’s one of the greatest concerns ever raised. It gets to the heart of the question “Does god exist?” which in turn is a source of insufferable anxiety. Despotic and tyrannical, this world cannot be justified. Disassociating and going into a different state of mind, away from reality, is among the only ways to survive this world. Studying history carries the risk of suicidal ideation.” (to be continued..).

So that’s some of my thoughts on this issue c: I don’t really know for sure, or anything, what I was talking about :3
, ty* for reading this post. I didn’t edit this that much, will probably do so tomorrow 💛💛💟☮️ 🦋🖤☮️ ty** 🥺🍂🙌🏽🖤🎶🦋🍷🧡 goodnite
