Suffering

Negative experiences, negative overall contexts, and certain memories preoccupy you, and will continue to do so until you are buried under the earth, and appear lifeless and immobile. As they should, perhaps. I’m starting to believe that these phenomena should induce intense suffering, or else you might not be classified as a feeling (sentient) being, in response to your surroundings. | Jesus wept is the shortest sentence in the Bible, I think. He also paid the supreme sacrifice on the cross, for our sins. Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, sealed in a stone-cold tomb.* ||| Life is a limited amount of days. I think death is an opening that often seems like an unchanging closing. And so it might be an opening and a beginning, and not an ending, at all. I myself do believe in a higher power. I’m hopeful about it. I don’t think 90 years of ludicrousness, laughter, pain, joy, and disappointment makes sense, as is. That in itself is the sum of life, to me. Maybe that shouldn’t be the totality of it, but then again life is often what happens, and how you subsequently feel about it. That has been my experience of it, so far.

*verse from the religious song “We Three Kings.”
