Beginning of class

It’s a crowd, a room full of people. Everyone’s talking at the same time. There’s too much energy in the setting. It’s a chaotic vibe. One student is smiling. Another seems to be laughing at something. Another is bothered by the hot temperature of the room, and she raises her hand to ask if she can turn the AC up, colder. Another person sneezes, wheezes. Someone else scratches his forearm. The instructor walks up to the front of the classroom, calm and happy to be there. To her, the atmosphere is rich in meaning. She sees herself in her students, herself when she was younger. None of them know exactly what is going to happen tomorrow. And none of them have the exact same analysis of the human experience. Every one of them has an original point of view. The students anticipate the instructor’s first words; they wait for class to begin.
